Arnolds Park Approves Fire Protection Agreement

November 23, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– With surprisingly little fanfare or debate, the Arnolds Park city council voted unanimously last night to continue the city’s fire protection agreement with Center Grove Township.

The council took the action after learning the city’s liability insurance covers calls to that area. A letter to that effect had been sent to the city by its insurance carrier.

In making the motion to continue the protection, council member Garnette Anderson said she didn’t know what else residents in the Moore Lake, Twin Hills and Kelly’s Beach areas could do to improve their situation. Anderson said she’s pleased by the progress they’ve made in getting fire hydrants installed and by the township’s budgeting to help purchase a new pumper truck.
