AP Council Gives Final Go-Ahead For Water Main Expansion

November 23, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– An area recently annexed into Arnolds Park will soon be getting city water.

Meeting in special session Wednesday, the Arnolds Park City Council adopted an ordinance establishing connection fees for the Woodlyn Acres area. The cost will be 1,930-dollars per hook-up. They’ll be able to pay that fee up-front, or in installments over several years.

It will be the property owner’s responsibility to run service lines from the street to the house.

Hook-up to the line isn’t mandatory, but several who live in that area say they’ll be doing so as soon as the line goes by their place because their wells are contaminated.

The council also awarded the low bid of 46,566-dollars for the project to ABC Services of Estherville. The engineer’s estimate was 67,743-dollars.
