AP Council Awards Bid On Linden Drive Project

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The way has been cleared for another major street project in Arnolds Park.

The city council Wednesday awarded a bid of 92,820-dollars for a water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer and pavement re-surfacing for Linden Drive to ABC Services of Estherville. The bid came in below the engineer’s estimate of 94,623-dollars. Work on the project could get underway yet this fall, with completion set for May 20th, 2005. The council awarded the bid following a public hearing that drew no comments.

Motorists in Arnolds Park will have to be on the lookout for a new stop sign. The council adopted an ordinance revision allowing for the placement of a stop sign for northbound traffic on Rohr Street at the intersection with Bascom Street.

They also approved a proposal limiting parking on Katrina and Carita streets to the north side of the streets.

The council approved a proposal to rezone land in the Evergreen Apartments area from R-1 to R-2 to allow for the construction of a five-unit townhouse. The re-zoning still has to be approved by the city’s Board of Adjustment. A public hearing at Wednesday’s council meeting drew no comments.

The council also voted to remove a concrete island on Emerald Pines Drive. Cohrs Excavating of Spirit Lake will do the work for 1,100-dollars.
