Alliant Energy To Eliminate 200 Jobs

November 22, 2014

(Madison, Wis.)– Madison, Wisconsin-based Alliant Energy says it will eliminate about 200 jobs in the coming months.

The company announced Monday the cuts will come in corporate and operations support positions. All cuts will be determined by July 8th.

Alliant President Bill Harvey says the cuts are needed to–quote–“eliminate work that is not essential to delivering safe and reliable energy for our customers.”

The company serves 1.4 million electric and natural gas customers in the midwest.

The cuts come one month after the company reported a big drop in first-quarter profit.
