(Wahpeton)– The Wind Energy Technician Program that will start this fall at Iowa Lakes Community College got a nice boost Wednesday.
Kim Zuhlke, Vice President of New Energy Resources at Alliant Energy, announced the company is making a contribution to a scholarship program for the course.
Zuhlke added they’re very gratified by the interest students are expressing in the new program. He says 14 students will enroll in the program this fall with another 25 that are thinking about signing up.
Doctor Richard Underbakke accepted the scholarship donation on behalf of Iowa Lakes Community College.
The contribution was announced during Wednesday’s ribbon cutting of the Flying Cloud Wind Farm at Lakeside Laboratory on West Lake Okoboji.
