Additional Pot Arrests Made In Spencer

(Spencer)– Clay county authorities continue to crack down on marijuana smokers…a search of a Spencer home Tuesday evening has landed seven more people behind bars.

Around 7:30 p.m., deputies served a search warrant at 725 East Seventh Street. During the search, officers found quantities of marijuana and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Officers arrested the occupants of the home, 41-year-old Dawn Tripp, 22-year-old Curtis Tripp, 22-year-old Griffin Clark, 40-year-old Kelly Olsen, 19-year-old Matthew Rigby, and 21-year-old Ashlie Mitchell. Authorities also arrested 20-year-old Brandon Kruse of Spencer who was visiting at the time of the search.

Each has been charged with possession of marijuana, gathering where illegal drugs are used or sold, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were all placed in the Clay county jail with bonds set at 4,200-dollars.

The investigation continues and more arrests are expected.

The Spencer Police Department and Iowa State Patrol assisted in the search and arrests.
