(Spirit Lake)– Additional charges have been filed against a Milford man accused of criminal transmission of the virus that causes AIDS.
Spirit Lake police last Wednesday initially charged 31-year-old Dewayne Boyd with one count of the crime…a class “B” felony. Since then, authorities say three additional victims have come forward, and subsequent investigations have resulted in three additional counts of criminal transmission of the H.I.V virus being filed against Boyd.
Spirit Lake police are being assisted in their investigation by the Dickinson County Attorney’s Office.
The Iowa Department of Public Health has offered to provide medical testing to those concerned about the victim’s possible exposure to the virus.
