(Milford)– Additional charges have been filed against a Spirit Lake man who was also charged in an alleged incident early yesterday.
Police in Milford have charged Michael D. Koontz and David Wayne Medlin of Spirit Lake with burglary in the third degree and theft in the first degree.
The two men are accused of stealing a 1998 Ford Explorer from the parking lot of Community Health Services in north Milford on Saturday.
Koontz is being held on bond of 40,500-dollars. Bond for Medlin was set at 15-thousand. Both men remain in the Dickinson county jail.
Koontz was also charged with one count of robbery in the first degree. He allegedly struck 21-year-old Justin W. Koedman of Doon in the head, neck and shoulders with a blunt object. Koontz is also accused of taking Koedman’s wallet. That mishap allegedly took place around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Lakeshore Drive in Arnolds Park. Koedman was treated for his injuries at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and was released.
