(West Okoboji)– A Milford man sustained minor injuries in an accident Sunday on Highway 86 just west of West Okoboji…about a quarter of a mile north of 210th street.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Daniel Johnson of Milford lost control of a 1999 Ford Escort after he apparently passed out at the wheel. The vehicle left the road and struck a parked 1979 Ford pickup owned by Vugteveen Lawn Service, a cement retaining wall, and some bushes.
Johnson, who was alone in the vehicle, complained of minor injuries and sought his own treatment at Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Johnson with about a thousand dollars in damage estimated to the pickup owned by Vugteveen Lawn Service.
The mishap took place around 12:45 p.m. Sunday.
No citations were issued.
