Accident Claims Life Of Sheldon Resident

November 23, 2014

(Primghar)– A weekend accident has claimed the life of a Sheldon resident.

Authorities say a 1993 White semi tractor driven by 48-year-old James Wilson of Hartley was initially westbound on county road B-24 and started backing into a driveway when it was struck by an eastbound 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 25-year-old Jaycee Alan Overholt. Authorities say the car struck the rear duals of the semi tractor.

Overholt was pronounced dead a short time after the accident.

The mishap took place shortly after midnight Saturday about two miles west of the junction of county road M-12 on O’Brien county road B-24.

It was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol with assistance from the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and the Hartley Police Department.
