(Spirit Lake)– A slice of nostalgia is coming to the Iowa Great Lakes.
Ivan Brown of Spirit Lake has announced plans to bring a 1950’s-style diner to town…called “Deja Blues”. In addition to the 50’s era-theme, Brown says it will also be based on a blues and jazz theme.
The new diner…with a unique stainless steel exterior…will be located in the new business park just east of Hy-Vee in Spirit Lake.
Brown hopes to have the diner open in late January. He says it will be open year-round and will employ about 24 people.
Brown says he got the idea after visiting similar diners in California.
