(Superior)– A three-vehicle crash Saturday at the intersection of Highway Nine and Dickinson County Road N-14 sent two people to the hospital.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Michael Mathews of Estherville was turning west onto Highway nine from County Road N-14 when he lost control. The vehicle Mathews was driving crossed the center line colliding with vehicles driven by 51-year-old Mary Clark of Estherville and 50-year-old Dennis Bice of Spirit Lake. Clark and a passenger in the vehicle driven by Matthews, Beth Origer of Estherville, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with unknown injuries.
Four-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1995 Ford driven by Mathews; a 2000 Pontiac driven by Clark sustained an estimated 1,500-dollars in damage and five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1994 Pontiac driven by Bice.
Mathews was cited for failure to have control.
The mishap took place shortly before 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say heavy rain was falling at the time.
