2 People Injured In 3-Vehicle Accident

(Milford)– Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday evening at the junction of Highways 71 and 86 in Milford.

Police say 74-year-old Alma Mathews of Terril was southbound on highway 71 and was approaching the intersection when she collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Terri Mueller of Arnolds Park. The vehicle driven by Mueller was then pushed into the rear of a third vehicle driven by 44-year-old Jane Domino of Spencer.

Mathews and Domino were taken by ambulance to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Mueller.

3,500-dollars in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Mathews; six thousand to the one driven by Mueller; and damage to the vehicle driven by Domino was estimated at 800-dollars.

Mathews was charged with following too close.

The mishap took place around 6:20 p.m.

It was investigated by the Milford Police Department with assistance from the Arnolds Park Police Department, Milford Fire Department, and Milford Rescue Unit.
