(Spirit Lake)– A 16-year-old rural Spirit Lake girl has been crowned 2005 Dickinson County Fair Queen.
The title was bestowed upon Loren Hummel at Monday’s coronation ceremony. Hummel says she was very excited when her name was read as the winner. She says she looks forward to discharging her duties as Fair Queen, which will include a trip to the Iowa State Fair.
Hummel says there were several things that led to her interest in seeking the title, saying she’s always enjoyed working with children and that this will give her more of an opportunity to motivate them and encourage them to get involved in their community, church, school and 4-H.
Loren is the daughter of Todd and Becky Hummel.
