(Spirit Lake)– The annual Iowa Great Lakes Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 17th at Camp Foster. Michaela Arnseon, Marketing and Events Coordinator with the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, says it will be going on from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and will feature activities for the whole family…
“Lots of times they are similar activities like they will have a poke a pumpkin or a pumpkin walk. The APO Fire Department’s always there with their fire truck and they hook it to the water so they can shoot it at a little house. Kids are loving that, there’s always coloring activities, s’mores at the fire pit is always a big one that kiddos love as well as there’s always cookie decorating. We have a couple booths with that this year.”
She says some of the booths will have trick-or-treating themed events going on as well…
“There is some trick or treating, it all depends on what the businesses want to bring to their booth. Some will offer kind of a trick or treating theme where you just walk by and like play a game and grab some candy, or they’ll just have some swag with their business represented out there with some candy to grab. It kind of changes from booth-to-booth but that oftentimes is one of the activities.”
Camp Foster will also have some food available for a freewill donation, with proceeds going to one of their missions. A shuttle service will also be available.
