Another Reminder Of Iowa Water Conference Next Week In Iowa Great Lakes

September 11, 2026

(Okoboji)– As we reported previously the Iowa Great Lakes will host the 2026 Iowa Water Conference this coming Wednesday and Thursday, September 16th and 17th. Steve Wiseman, a local outdoors enthusiast, says this year’s conference will provide a special opportunity for input from the general public. He says that part of the conference, dubbed “Community Track”, will be held Thursday afternoon at Maser Monarch Lodge…

“There will be five different strands or tracks, I guess you would call it, and it starts at 2:00 and runs until 4:30. Every one is about a half hour segment and they will have a question-answer at the end of each section. The one thing that they ask is if you could go online to Iowawaterconference and go under register and register so that they know how many refreshments because there will be refreshments, they have refreshments for the people who come. If you don’t sign up you can still show up and register there so they have a number of people who show up. They want to have that count.”

Wiseman says they’re expecting a large crowd for this year’s conference, given the recent attention and concern over what’s going on with Iowa’s water quality…

“The main conference itself, they figure there will be 350 people there and those are a lot of in the profession of conservation and so forth, but there will be lot of university students there, too, so it’s a great opportunity on that side. But this one is just for the community. It kind of takes off from where the Blue Water Festival was for 10 years, Steve, where people could just talk to people in the know. We had all those people set up at different tables. This is the same type of thing only it is a separate half hour segment five times during that Thursday afternoon slot from 2:00 to 4:30.”

The main part of the conference itself will be held at The Roof Garden and Pavilion at the Arnolds Park Amusement Park. The theme for this year’s conference is Life Depends On Water, Water Depends On You.
