(Okoboji)– The Dickinson County Conservation Board is implementing new regulations for the operation of motorized devices at the parks and properties it manages.
A post on the board’s Facebook page says E-bikes and any motorized vehicle with a throttle or capable of throttle-powered movement are prohibited. Pedal-assist electric bicycles with a throttle are permitted, provided the motor assists only while the rider is actively pedaling. Traditional human-powered bicycles are allowed. Wheelchairs and other mobility devices used by individuals with disabilities are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Emergency, law enforcement and authorized Conservation Board vehicles are exempt.
The new regulations were recently adopted by the Dickinson County Conservation Board and are effective immediately.
