Milford Fire Dept. Gearing Up For Its Annual Pancake Feed

September 03, 2026

(Milford)– The Milford Fire Department will hold its annual pancake feed this weekend. Department member Jason Simpson says it will be going on this Sunday, September 6th from 8:00 am until 12 Noon at the fire station in Milford…

“The Milford Boy Scout Troop 170 will be helping with the event by serving the official pancakes of the University of Okoboji which are those Krusty sweet cream pancakes with a side of sausage patties, a choice of coffee, orange juice, or water.”

Admission will be by a freewill donation…

“The funds this year from the pancake feed will go towards updating firefighter gear. That stuff gets wear and tear on it and eventually ages out. Fire departments have to update that gear, so this is going to help out with that.”

Simpson says Sunday’s event will also feature some informational displays…

“While at the event, Milford firefighters will have information about Knox Boxes that are used for a secure entrance for the fire department in the event that a homeowner has an issue at their home and they’re not there and their house is locked. The homeowner can put the key to the door in there and the fire department has a special key that they use to open that up. So those are going to be on display at the pancake feed and the firefighters will be there if you have any questions about how to get one. We’ll also be having some fire prevention information for the kiddos along with some fire truck rides.”

Again, Sunday’s event will take place from 8:00 am until 12 Noon at the fire station in Milford.
