(Spencer)– The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has released details in a two-vehicle collision this past Saturday on the southwest edge of Spencer.
Authorities say 19-year-old Destiny Cooke of Everly was driving a 2014 Nissan northbound on 190th Avenue and had stopped at a stop sign at 350th Street. An accident report says she then pulled into the path of a 2018 Ford Expedition driven by 28-year-old Alyssa Johnson of Spencer, who was eastbound on 350th Street.
Cooke was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.
Cooke was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, operating without registration and failure to have a valid driver’s license.
Damage to the vehicle driven by Cooke was estimated at $10,000; the vehicle Johnson was driving sustained an estimated $15,000 in damage.
The collision took place a little after 2:30 pm.
The Spencer Hospital Ambulance, Spencer and Everly Fire and Rescue personnel, Spencer Police Department and a towing service assisted on the scene.
