(Des Moines)– Iowa’s Renewable Fuels Infrastructure program has awarded more than $2 million in cost-share grants for 38 E-15 biodiesel and infrastructure projects across the state. The funding will allow fuel retailers to install and upgrade pumps for E-15 and biodiesel.
Locally, Brew Oil LLC was awarded some $161,000 to install E-15 and biodiesel pumps at locations in Spirit Lake. Brew is receiving an additional $22,000 for an E-15 installation in Hartley along with $37,000 for an E-15 pump in Spencer. New Cooperative was awarded $50,000 for a biodiesel retail site in West Bend.
The Renewable Fuels Infrastructure program was established in 2006 in Iowa to assist fuel retailers with the cost of installing and upgrading infrastructure needed to store and dispense higher blends of renewable fuels.
