(Ruthven)– An independent review into financial records of the Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire Community Schools over the past couple of years shows no indication of fraud.
The findings of the third party report were presented public at public meetings Thursday evening in Ruthven and Graettinger.
The report states the discrepancies, made public a couple months ago, stemmed from incomplete or improper calculations involving shared expenses between the two districts. Leaders are still working through the records, adding they are putting stronger oversight measures in place. They also told crowds at the meetings they are committed to improving communications and re-establishing trust with patrons.
It followed Thursday’s approval by the boards to officially hire Jeff Dicks as interim superintendent, succeeding Marshall Lewis who was placed on administrative leave last month.
