(Spencer)– A traffic stop last week in Clay county landed two people in jail while numerous others were cited for minor in possession. Upon making the stop a deputy reported smelling alcohol and discovered full and open containers of it in the vehicle, along with numerous vape pens.
Upon investigating it was discovered the driver, 18-year-old Dillon Rockhold of Humboldt was wanted in Kossuth county for violation of a protection order and domestic assault impeding air flow causing bodily injury, animal abuse, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, and domestic abuse assault injury or mental illness. Rockhold was arrested on the warrants and was additionally charged with driving under suspension, no driver’s license, failure to file SR Insurance, violation of a restricted driver’s license, speeding, and minor in possession. He was booked into the Clay county jail.
A passenger, 22-year-old Melaina Burns of Hartley, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was arrested and booked into jail.
Four others in the vehicle, 18-year-old Kyler Klaasen of Hartley and three juveniles, all from Hartley, were cited and released for minor in possession.
