(St. Paul, Mn.)– A farm family from Jackson county will be honored next month as one of 86 Farm Families of the Year in Minnesota.
Brian and Melanie Post began farming in 1993. In addition to row crops, they manage a Simmental cattle herd along with a commercial sheep flock, and have been active in a number of different community and ag-related organizations. They also have three grown children, Zach, Tanner and Maggie. Zach and his wife Amanda moved to the home farm in 2024 and joined the operation.
The Posts will be recognized during the 2026 Farm Family of the Year ceremony at 1:15 pm Thursday, August 6th as part of this year’s Minnesota Farmfest near Redwood Falls.
