(Arnolds Park)– A major fundraiser for the Boys Town Camp in the Terrace Park area of West Lake Okoboji is coming up this weekend. Melissa Steffes, Development Director for Boys Town Nebraska-Iowa says it will be held Saturday (July 18th) at the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park…
“This event helps us raise those critical dollars to maintain the 74-year-old grounds and makes sure that we can preserve the camp for future generations of Boys Town kids and families.”
She says things will get started at 6:00 pm…
“We have a wonderful band, “The Neon Kings”. It’s a nine piece band. They’ll be putting on a great show. Yesterdays is doing all of the wonderful catering and we’ll have a full stocked coffee currelle and bar.”
You’ll also be able to visit some of the Boy’s Town campers and foster parents…
“You’ll get to meet the kids and ask them what their favorite thing is about the camp, and we have wonderful event chairs this year. Adam and Joey Gaines are our chairs and not only have they fostered children through Boys Town Foster Care Services, but they actually placed one of their adopted children in our family home program, so they’re very familiar with our programming. And then we have John and Lisa Haver who have a home in Spirit Lake and they’ve been very involved with Boys Town for many, many years and they’re our honorary chairs.”

Boys Town has operated its summer camp near Terrace Park since 1952. This marks the 15th year for the Blue Water Bash itself.
