(Okoboji)– The Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District is warning people to stay out of a construction area in Okoboji.
Superintendent Steve Anderson says they’re doing construction work in the area of Hayward’s Bay and that Lakeshore Drive in that area is fully closed until further notice. He says the area is marked with signs and construction fences, but people have been going around them and are trespassing in the construction zone.
Anderson says the closure of Lakeshore Drive in that area not only pertains to vehicular traffic, but all pedestrian activities as well. He says the ongoing issues of people accessing that area is causing delays with construction and getting the road reopened in a timely manner.
