Firefighters From Multiple Departments Respond To House Fire SW Of Terril

(Terril)– Firefighters from several departments battled a house fire Wednesday southwest of Terril.

Fire departments from Terril, Dickens and Milford were called to 2970 290th Street around 4:45 pm.

Terril Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says crews quickly extinguished a fire that was burning in the basement. He says it started near a couch. Extensive fire damage was reported to the basement.

Fischer says the occupants were able to get out uninjured, however three dogs and one cat died in the fire. There was no word on a cause.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer Ambulance and the Clay, Dickinson and Emmet County Communications Centers assisted.
