(Sheldon)– Fire Thursday evening in Sheldon destroyed a garage and its contents, including two vehicles. Fortunately, authorities say no injuries were reported.
Firefighters responded to 901 6th Street in Sheldon a little before 7:30 pm and found heavy smoke and flames coming from an overhead door on the south side of the garage. Two hose lines were deployed and the fire was quickly put out. Crews remained on the scene conducting overhaul operations and extinguishing hot spots.
The cause is uncertain but is believed to be accidental in nature. Officials say it started in the southwest corner of the structure.
About 20,000 gallons of water and 10 gallons of foam were used to put out the fire.
