Clean Up Underway In Areas Hard Hit By Sunday Evening’s Severe Weather

(Estherville)– Cleanup is getting underway today (Mon.) in areas hit hard by Sunday evening’s storms.

There were reports of a tornado that apparently touched down briefly in a field northwest of Terril. Storm spotters confirmed another tornado touch down that occurred near Ringsted, in southeast Emmet county. Multiple tornado warnings were issued due to radar indicated rotation.

Considerable wind damage was reported in Estherville with numerous limbs down and the cross arms of a railroad crossing broken off. Quite a bit of tree and structure damage was also reported in the Ruthven area.

Extensive damage was reported in the Kingsley area of Plymouth county where numerous power lines were down. It was similar situation in Cherokee county.

Another round of severe weather could be possible later today (Mon.) in portions of the region.
