(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College is bringing a dynamic lineup to the stage at the Janice K Lund Performing Arts Center for their Estherville Performing Arts Series and Jessi Strom, with Performing Arts Center Promotions and Operations at the school, talks about how they choose the groups each year…
“We have an advisory group that I presented probably more than twenty different groups to them, and it got narrowed down and they gave me some new directions to go in, and we came up with a series. We got a lot of bigger sets with, you know, people on stage, you know, four or five or even a whole band on stage. Only one solo act this year with Clare Longendyke on piano in January. But, you know, we want variety. And that’s, I think, what we got.”
Strom talks about the first act that will kick off the series…
“Jive for Five is there in September, that’s a brass quintet and they’re all Iowa musicians and they’ve, you know, been performing for years and years and years. And I’m looking forward to hearing them on stage. They’re going to have such a repertoire of music all over the place. They advertise from Bach to Mozart to the Beatles and jazz. You know, they’re just they’re going to play a lot of different music for people. So hopefully there’ll be something that appeals to everybody.”
