(Spirit Lake)– Lakes Regional Healthcare is giving special recognition this week to two departments.
National Lab Week is being recognized now through April 25th. Jim Carle, Director of Laboratory Services at LRH, says they’re proud of the vital work the lab team performs each day, adding they have to be extremely meticulous in their jobs to provide dependable answers to patients and physicians. He says results of the lab tests often identify the presence of disease in it earliest stages when the possibilities of a cure are greatest and when treatment is least costly.
Volunteers at Lakes Regional Healthcare are also being recognized this week as part of Volunteers Week. Jennifer Gustafson, LRH Vice President of Marketing and Retail Services, says volunteers fulfill a number of important duties through the hospice program, as greeters and working in the hospital’s gift shop. Senior Health Insurance Information Program, or SHIIP volunteers, provide critical guidance on Medicare options. Gustafson encourages anyone interested in volunteering in any of those positions to contact her at 336-8799 or by emailing
