(Paullina)– Cleanup continues after a diesel pipeline was accidentally severed last week in O’Brien county. It happened Wednesday evening as a construction crew was working in a field east of Paullina.
O’Brien County Emergency Management Coordinator Jared Johnson says diesel was released into the ground and moved along some drainage tile in the area of Highway 10.
The Paullina Fire Department and multiple other agencies quickly responded to the scene and began hazmat operations.
The Iowa DNR was also notified and is monitoring the clean up.
