(Undated)– Several local groups have been awarded funding through the Alliant Energy Grant Foundation.
The Dinner Date program at the Lakes Area Senior Center is receiving $2,500 with $500 going to the Friends of the Milford Library for a summer reading program. The same amount was awarded to the Emmet County Cattlemen for meat bundles for their annual banquet.
All total, the foundation awarded $638,000 to various causes and nonprofits throughout Iowa and Wisconsin in its most recent grant cycle, with 138 organizations supported so far this year. The grants focus on projects promoting community safety and engagement, environmental stewardship, workforce readiness, along with hunger and housing.
