Car Vs Semi Collision In Clay County Claims A Life

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Tuesday at the intersection of County Road M-50 and 340th Street, also referred to as the east beltway northeast of Spencer, claimed a life.

The Iowa State Patrol says 69-year-old Mone Keoninh of Ruthven was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry northbound on County Road M-50 and pulled into the path of a 2000 Peterbilt semi driven by 42-year-old Kevin Hofman of Sanborn, who was southbound.

Keoninh was taken to Spencer Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later. No injuries were reported to Hofman.

The collision took place around 9:45 am Tuesday. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Spencer Fire and Ambulance assisted on the scene.
