“It’s the time of year to remind people that we’re hopefully transitioning out of winter despite last weekend’s weather and moving into more springlike weather and with that brings, of course, thunderstorms, lightning, thunder, heavy rain and potential for even tornadoes and things like that. Just that annual reminder to help folks kind of get out of the winter mindset and more into the springtime thinking as far as weather and preparedness goes.”

One of the highlights will be the statewide tornado drill on Wednesday. We’ll have more on that and some of the things we should be doing to prepare for the upcoming season on our newscasts next week.
