(Jackson, Mn.)– A small business fraud seminar will be held next month in Jackson. Molly Fransen is with Bank Midwest which is putting on the April 19th event. She says Stacy Wolter, a Fraud Prevention Manager, will be the keynote speaker…
“She works with a lot of people when fraud and scams happen. She’s got a lot of accreditation in all things fraud. So she’s going to be coming and highlighting the scams that are targeting small businesses right now, share things on what you can do to help prevent or prepare yourself for those things when they happen. And then we’re also going to bring Kristy Hartke and Josh Peterson, a couple of our insurance agents, along to talk about cyber insurance and how that can help add different protections for you depending on what fraud or scams would happen.”
Fransen says the volume of that activity only continues to increase…
“We actually have a growing team in our fraud department. It started out with just Stacie but we now are a team of three because it’s gotten to be so much that we have for fraud, both individually and with businesses. Every day they’re stopping, I mean handfuls of scams that are being targeted for our customers.”
The April 19th seminar will be the first in a series of lunch and learn events being put on by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce. Chamber Director Corey Christopher…
“That’s really going to be our focus, on areas that help our small businesses in and around this community can really find beneficial and really help them move their business forward.”
The April 19th event will begin at 12 Noon at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Cetner in Jackson. Those planning to attend need to pre-register as a light lunch will be served as part of the program. You can do that by contacting Bank Midwest in Jackson.
