(Sheldon)– Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon has received a million-dollar grant to open a facility in Rock Rapids. The funding is through the state’s Career Academy Incentive Fund (CAIF) to empower more students with pathways to postsecondary success.
Officials with Northwest Iowa Community College say it will allow them to start up a new Regional Center in Rock Rapids that will house four academic pathways including agriculture, business, education and healthcare.
Students from Central Lyon, George-Little Rock, Sibley-Ocheyedan and West Lyon will be able to utilize the center, which is expected to be operational in the fall of 2027.
