(Undated)– The American Red Cross has an important reminder as we turn our clocks ahead one hour this weekend. They say it’s also a great time to test smoke detectors and to replace the batteries in them. They also recommend getting a new one if yours is 10 years-old or older.
Red Cross officials say that in 2025, their volunteers provided assistance to more than two thousand people affected by 584 home fires, which account for most of the about 65,000 disasters the Red Cross responds to annually nationwide.
