(Fairmont, MN) — Minnesota’s oldest operating theater is in danger of going out of business.
The Opera House opened in Fairmont, Minnesota, in 1901, but now it needs four million dollars to stay open. Grants and donations have helped raise one-and-a-half million dollars so far, but it’s still not enough.
If they can afford renovations, the theater will still maintain its character, like the chandeliers, which were installed ten years before the Titanic sank.
