(Spirit Lake)– A longtime administrator with the Spirit Lake Community School District is moving on. Terry Bruinsma has been hired as Superintendent at the West Lyon Community School District.
Bruinsma has been with the Spirit Lake Community Schools since 2003, including the past 14 years as Middle School Principal.
Pending formal approval by the West Lyon School Board, Bruinsma will begin his new duties there effective this coming July 1st.
In a statement, Spirit Lake Superintendent Dr. David Smith says Bruinsma will be deeply missed and thanked him for his years of service, adding they will greatly miss his leadership but that they are also excited for him and his family as they begin a new chapter.
