Firefighters Called Back After Fire Re-Kindles In A House In Terril Already Heavily Damaged In Weekend Fire

January 27, 2026

(Terril)– Firefighters were called back to a house in Terril early this (Tues.) morning that had already been heavily damaged in a fire on Sunday. Terril Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says they were called back to 201 West Warner Avenue around 2:00 am after the fire re-kindled. Departments from Milford, Wallingford and Spirit Lake also responded.

Fischer says this time the roof collapsed. At that point he says about all they could do was perform salvage and overhaul operations and put out any hot spots. An excavator was called to the scene for debris removal.

Fischer says cold temperatures again played a factor this (Tues.) morning causing water supply lines and trucks to freeze.

Fischer says the original cause of the fire still has not been determined.
