Battle Of The Bartenders Another Huge Success

January 23, 2026

(Okoboji)– The annual Battle of the Bartenders has grown to be one of the highest attended University of Okoboji Winter Games events in recent years, and this year’s event was no exception. Trevor Johnson is a Marketing Specialist with Parks Marina, which hosts the event each year. He says last (Thurs.) evening’s event again raised a significant amount of money for local charities…

“So last night we were able to raise $14,300 in one hour and, you know, we’re missing our fearless leader Butch, and in honor of Butch, he gave so much to this community that we gave back too and we actually doubled that donation and we raised $28,600 with everybody that was there. Every charity actually got $500, too, so it was a great success. We appreciate everyone coming out last night and helping us out and what better way to honor Butch than to give back. That’s what that guy was all about. He meant so much to all of us here at Park’s Marina and meant a lot to this community. So it was a great success and man, what an awesome evening to kick off this Winter Games.”

22 charities were represented this year…

“And the winning one was U Iowa Children’s Hospital in honor of a certain individual there. Like Jared said we did the wave from Okoboji last night, so yeah, it was awesome. And you know what, if you want to give, too, you can go to our Facebook page. We have a Venmo open so that number could go up too, and yeah, help us contribute to such great charities.”

The Battle of the Bartenders has raised more than $150,000 for various charities since its founding.
