Polaris Industries Plans To Permanently Close Osceola, Wi. Plant

January 23, 2026

(Minneapolis, Mn.)– Polaris Industries plans to close a plant in Osceola, Wisconsin that manufactures engines and components for motorcycles, snowmobiles and off-road vehicles. Closure of the Wisconsin plant will be done in phases beginning this summer. It’s scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. 200 employees who work at the Wisconsin plant will be affected, with engine production for Indian motorcycles being consolidated with manufacturing operations in Spirit Lake.

The closure of the Wisconsin plant is reportedly connected with the acquisition of Indian Motorcycles by California-based Carolwood, LP. The sale to the private equity company was announced in October of last year and is scheduled to close this quarter. Polaris Industries will still hold a minority share in the Indian Motorcycle company.

More than 500 people work at the plant in Spirit Lake.
