(Arnolds Park)– Students in the Okoboji Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy program have raised $53,000 of their $80,000 goal for this year. The funds raised will go toward grants for various nonprofits this spring. The fundraising continues through March 31, 2026.
Youth in Philanthropy empowers high school students to raise funds, evaluate grant requests, and award grants to nonprofit organizations serving the Iowa Great Lakes region. Community support is essential to the success of the program. Donations directly increase the dollars students will be able to grant to local nonprofits this spring.
Youth in Philanthropy students held their first meeting of 2026 Wednesday at the Pearson Lakes Art Center. Their next meeting will be February 4th at Lakeside Lab.
