(Undated)– The National Weather Service is warning of some potentially dangerous travel conditions beginning late tonight (Sat.) and continuing through the day Sunday into Sunday night.
A clipper system that will be accompanied by a blast of arctic air will move through, bringing 1 to 3 inches of snow during the day Sunday and strong wind gusting to over 40 mph at times. Forecasters say that, combined with the falling snow, will create considerable blowing and drifting snow resulting in poor visibility. This scenario could be similar to what we experienced December 18th with the whiteout and blizzard conditions.
Temperatures will also drop throughout the day Sunday, with readings by Monday morning a few degrees either side of zero. Very cold wind chills will also be a factor Sunday into early Monday.
Anyone with travel plans Sunday into Sunday night should keep up to date with later forecasts and road condition information.
