(Lester)– One person was seriously injured Monday when a pickup collided with a semi in Lyon county. The Iowa State Patrol says it happened a little before 10:30 am at the intersection of Lyon County Roads A26 and K30 near Lester.
Troopers say 47-year-old James Boyda of Sioux Falls was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a northbound 2012 Freightliner semi driven by 65-year-old Kyle Knobloch of Luverne, Minnesota.
Boyda was seriously injured and was airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Knobloch wasn’t injured.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Lester Fire and Rescue and the Lyon County Secondary Roads Department assisted on the scene.
