(Spirit Lake) Life Serve Blood Center is inviting everyone to celebrate the season of giving by saving lives. Tim Paluch, Director of PR/Marketing for Life Serve Blood Center says its very important to give blood.
“You might be helping out your neighbor or your friend or your family. Someone you’re behind the line in the grocery store with. We supply blood to the hospitals that you in your community need, and everybody’s going. A lot of people are going to need blood. You know, one in seven hospital visits ends up with someone needing a blood transfusion or needing blood. So it’s a lot of the people who don’t even realize that there will come a time when they need that as well. And, you know, it’s good to just kind of get in the habit of thinking about that as you’re helping out your community.“
All donations given through Life Serve Blood Center stay local and donors who give between December 17 to the 31st will receive a voucher for Life Serve’s trademark holiday long-sleeve shirt while supplies last. There are three blood drives in the Iowa Great Lakes. Spirit Lake on 12/23 from 1 to 6 at the Dickinson County Expo center, Milford on 12/26 from 9:30 to 1:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and Lakes Regional Healthcare on 12/29 from 10 am to 1:45.
