A Display Of Christmas Lights That Will Make Clark Griswold Envious Has Returned NW Of Lake Park

December 04, 2025

(Lake Park, IA) Lueders Ridiculous Christmas Lights have been bringing joy to people around the area for many years and you can visit with Santa this Saturday and see the lights in person. Roxie Lueders says Santa will be there from 5:30 to 7:00 on Saturday…

“We always have people just pull up to the end of our driveway and Santa visits with the kids while they’re still in the car. We have helpers that give the kids goodie bags and give everybody else candy canes, and then people are encouraged to just pull ahead after they’re done and continue to enjoy the light show.”

What started out as something small for the Lueders to enjoy every Christmas has turned into so much more…

“I’ve never quite understood how we went this deep. We started about twenty years ago. We just put up a few lights in the front yard and we live way out in the country. It was just for us and it just continued to grow and grow. And once we started, it went from the first year, about 12 years ago, we had one controller, and now we have sixteen controllers that control our lights to  music.”

Lueders says they enjoy the fact that they have created something for people of all ages to look forward to…

“Over the years, we have had many people tell us that when I was a kid, I came and watched your Christmas lights and now I bring my kids. And so we didn’t even give it a thought that we’ve been doing it that many years, I don’t think. And this will be our tenth year with Santa Claus here. Now it’s become a tradition, and we kind of feel like it kind of warms your heart to know that people take the time to come out with their families because they enjoy your lights, and we hear them on the road. On a nice night, you’ll hear kids out on the road singing. They crank the music up in the car and you’ll hear the kids singing and dancing on the road.”

There is no charge to see the display but they are taking free will donations which go to help support Veterans and active duty military needs. You can view Lueders Ridiculous Christmas Lights at 1078 110th St in Lake Park IA from 5:30 to 10:30 every day from now until New Year’s Eve.
