(Slayton, MN)– The Wonder World Preschool in Slayton, Minnesota is receiving a cash lifeline to stay open.
On Tuesday, the Murray County Board of Commissioners approved as much as 500-thousand dollars in loans for the rural child care center.
Wonder World is the only licensed child care center in Murray County in Minnesota’s southwest corner. The center still faces eviction in July and must raise over two-million dollars in capital before time runs out.
A 2022 report shows that rural Minnesota has lost over half of its child care capacity since 2000.
