(Spirit Lake)– One of the two suspects in an October carjacking in Okoboji has pled not guilty. Online court records show 40-year-old Jessica Nordrum of Minneapolis entered the plea November 7th to charges of robbery in the 1st degree, assault with a deadly weapon, theft in the 1st degree, assault causing serious injury and operating without the owner’s consent. Nordrum remains in the Dickinson County Jail on a $100,000 bond. She’s schedule to go on trial February 3rd. A hearing for a bond review is set for December 8th.
Another suspect in the case, 27-year-old Vaughn Harris of Minneapolis, has yet to be extradited. Harris and Nordrum were charged in the October 13th incident that took place in the parking lot at Lake Okoboji Resort. The two are accused of taking a vehicle by force. Police say a pregnant woman in the vehicle fell out during the altercation and was run over on the right side of her body. Harris and Nordrum fled in the victim’s vehicle and were eventually stopped by authorities in Blue Earth county, Minnesota.
