Crash On Hwy 18 Near Clay/O’Brien County Line Injures Everly Man

(Everly)– An Everly man was injured in a single vehicle crash Monday on Highway 18 near the Clay/O’Brien county line.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 76-year-old Steven Schuver of Everly lost control of a 2020 Dodge Ram while traveling eastbound. The vehicle left the road and went into the north ditch where it struck a driveway and went airborne, clipping a power pole and hitting a tree. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels.

Schuver was taken to Spencer Hospital. The vehicle was totaled.

Authorities say the crash is still under investigation and that charges are pending.

The Everly Fire Department, Spencer Ambulance, Hartley Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol assisted on the scene.
